Take a walk along the historic Main Street district in Ryan, OK and see its past depicted in murals on many of the storefronts. Those were painted by two women, longtime best friends, Loretta Corley and Laura Thorn Jackson. This small community, with a population of around 800, was established in 1892 by Stephen W. Ryan. The town is noted for being the birthplace of Chuck Norris, an actor and martial arts expert. Contact Laura Thorn Jackson for information. The Parlor is open by appointment only. The murals can be viewed at any time.

Take a walk along the historic Main Street district in Ryan, OK and see its past depicted in murals on many of the storefronts. One mural tells the tale of the Office of the U.S. Marshall, another of a jail in Indian Territory times, and of course the Ryan Opera House est. 1894. Before entering Ryan’s downtown business district, visitors are greeted by a billboard mural that welcomes them to the Gateway to the Chisholm Trail. If you’re looking for a taste of the old west and past, this is the town to visit. The old town funeral home was restored and is now The Parlor, a museum with many documents and artifacts.
