2nd Annual “Wild Steer” CASI Chili Cook-Off

This is the qualifier competition for the state of Kansas. The winner automatically has the option to go to the international CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) competition in Terlingua, TX in October 2017.

The Chili Cook-Off will take place at the Eisenhower Presidential Library Campus, 200 SE 4th, Abilene, KS.

Schedule of Events:

7:30 to 9:00 a.m. - Chili cooks check-in

9:00 a.m. - Chili cooks meeting

9:00 a.m. - Cinnamon Rolls, President Eisenhower’s Chili, Base Ball Hot Dogs, Frito Boats, Call Hall Ice Cream, Root Beer Floats, Beer and Beer Floats and more will be available.

10:00 a.m. - Cowboy Poets will entertain the crowd until 1:00 p.m. (They are competing in the National Cowboy Poetry Rodeo this weekend!)

11:15 a.m. - Chili turned in for judging

11:30 a.m. - Chili Tasting Begins! Help choose the People’s Choice winner of the competition!

1:00 p.m. - Vintage Baseball Game featuring The Wichita Bull Stockings vs The Abilene Iron Cutters

3:00 p.m. - “Wild Steer” Chili Cook-Off Awards
